Carlo’s Bakery to Open at The Florida Mall

Carlo’s Bakery, the subject of the hit TLC series Cake Boss, will open a new location in The Florida Mall on Dec. 5. Setting up shop in the mall’s new Dining Pavilion, Carlo’s Bakery will celebrate its grand opening with the appearance of renowned baker, chef and New York Times best-selling author Buddy Valastro and family.

“I started working at Carlo’s Bakery when I was 11 years old and I will tell you, on my first day, the last thought I had was that I’d be introducing a 12th location in Orlando, Florida someday!” says Buddy Valastro. “You know, my famiglia and I love Orlando; there’s so much to do here with all the attractions and the locals are always so welcoming. I’m so excited to give the city the opportunity to have access to our treats and cakes at The Florida Mall, Central Florida’s largest shopping center.”

Bringing Carlo’s Bakery entire selection of famed confections and signature family-friendly atmosphere, this will be the brand’s first location in the southern United States. Modeled after the flagship Hoboken, New Jersey bakery, the state-of-the-art facility will span more than 2,300 square feet.

Established in 1910, Carlo’s Bakery was catapulted from a Hoboken, New Jersey-based neighborhood bakery to a household name through the public’s fascination with the over-the-top cakes produced by master baker Buddy Valastro and success of TLC’s hit series, Cake Boss, and subsequent spinoff Next Great Baker.

Garnering attention from a variety of media outlets including Brides, The Rachael Ray Show, Huffington Post and Good Morning America, Carlo’s Bakery has existing locations in Hoboken, Marlton, Morristown, Red Bank, Ridgewood, and Westfield, New Jersey; Las Vegas, Nevada; Uncasville, Connecticut; New York, and Westbury, New York; and, on Norweigan Cruise Lines.

Mark, Soooo any insider info on standing in line for the grand opening. How early can we get to the Florida Mall. I am trying to find out now and I am going to stop there tonight for some info. But if you don’t mind sharing any tips I would appreciate it. I live in Hunters Creek and plan to be at the mall super early if I have to! Thanks.

My name is Mark and I’m a mall-aholic. As a native Orlandoan, I’ve been visiting them since I can remember. I’ve also worked in a couple and consider myself a self-appointed expert. There’s been a lot of change when it comes metro Orlando’s mall landscape, and I’ve taken it upon myself to chronicle it. Each mall has a story to tell, and having graduated from the University of Central Florida and double majored in journalism and radio/television, I feel I’m best equipped to make those stories come alive here at Orlando Mall Guide. So whether you’re a local or a tourist needing a shopping break from the attractions, I’m your hookup.
