Carlo’s Bakery, the subject of the hit TLC series Cake Boss, is now open at the The Florida Mall in the new Dining Pavilion. Celebrating the grand opening festivities on Dec. 5 was the baker, chef and New York Times best-selling author Buddy Valastro along with his family.
“You know, [there are] a lot of moments in my life that I’m proud of, but when I come here and I see all my fans with all the love, it really touches my heart,” Valastro said to hundreds of supporters who had lined up throughout the 105,000-square-foot Dining Pavilion.
“I want to let you know how happy we are to be here in Orlando in The Florida Mall,” Valastro continued. “Orlando is one of my favorite cities in the world. I come here at least twice a year with my family because we love it. We’ve been coming here for 10 years so this was a very important spot for me to have a bakery.
This is the brand’s first location in the southern United States. Modeled after the flagship Hoboken, New Jersey bakery, the state-of-the-art facility spans more than 2,300 square feet.
Established in 1910, Carlo’s Bakery was catapulted from a Hoboken, New Jersey-based neighborhood bakery to a household name through the public’s fascination with the over-the-top cakes produced by master baker Buddy Valastro and success of TLC’s hit series, Cake Boss, and subsequent spinoff Next Great Baker.
