Little Greek to Open at Waterford Lakes Town Center

Little Greek, a Tampa, Fla.-based fast-casual Greek multi-unit restaurant company with an American influence, is set to open this spring at Waterford Lakes Town Center. The restaurant menu will emphasize fresh Greek dishes and traditional family recipes.

“We’ve been wanting to come to Orlando for a while,” said Nick Vojnovic, president of Little Greek. “We had to find the right location. We’re in the last stages of finalizing an opening date.”

The Waterford Lakes restaurant is at 855 N. Alafaya Tr. This is Little Greek’s first location in Orlando, with a planned build out of 16 to 20 restaurants.

The owners of the Waterford Lakes location are Mike Carlson and Jeff and Lane Rosenberg. Carlson and Jeff Rosenberg, previous multi-unit owners in the Sport Clips Haircuts franchise, will serve as area developers for Little Greek in Central Florida.

“We are excited about bringing the fresh homemade food from Little Greek to our hometown Orlando market,” Rosenberg said. “There’s nothing like it in the area.”

Little Greek emphasizes fresh Greek dishes created from generations of traditional family recipes, with its grilled chicken items and healthy salads among the most popular. Most locations are open daily from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. and offer dine-in, take-out and catering.

Little Greek currently has 14 locations in the Tampa Bay area with 19 total locations in Arkansas, Florida and Texas. It recently celebrated its 10th year of operation.

“The Greek/Mediterranean segment is exploding in the United States,” Vojnovic added. “Americans are discovering this healthy, delicious cuisine.”

My name is Mark and I’m a mall-aholic. As a native Orlandoan, I’ve been visiting them since I can remember. I’ve also worked in a couple and consider myself a self-appointed expert. There’s been a lot of change when it comes metro Orlando’s mall landscape, and I’ve taken it upon myself to chronicle it. Each mall has a story to tell, and having graduated from the University of Central Florida and double majored in journalism and radio/television, I feel I’m best equipped to make those stories come alive here at Orlando Mall Guide. So whether you’re a local or a tourist needing a shopping break from the attractions, I’m your hookup.
