Ron Jon Surf Shop Now Open at The Florida Mall

Ron Jon Surf Shop opens its second Orlando location March 18 at The Florida Mall with a variety of events and family activities, including the giveaway of a Honda Ruckus and a 100-second shopping spree to one lucky winner.

The 8,300-square-foot store, which marks Ron Jon Surf Shop’s 13th location nationwide, is situated in the area adjacent to The Florida Mall’s new Dining Pavilion. The store features products from a wide variety of surf brands from T-shirts to skateboards and also includes Ron Jon-branded merchandise.

Ron Jon Surf Shop will celebrate The Florida Mall store grand opening with a weekend-long celebration featuring live music from noon to 4 p.m. each day, children’s activities including face painting and balloon animals, a DJ giving away prizes Friday and Saturday night, a register-to-win for a Honda Ruckus, and an in-store shopping spree to be awarded Friday morning in which the winner keeps everything they can grab in 100 seconds.

Ron Jon Surf Shop currently operates stores throughout Florida and in other locations along the eastern seaboard including Ocean City, Md., Orange Beach, Ala., two locations in Myrtle Beach and its original location in Ship Bottom, N.J.

According to Debbie Harvey, president and COO of Ron Jon Surf Shop, the company chose The Florida Mall as its newest location because of the mall’s large number of international visitors and proximity to Orlando International Airport and theme parks.

“We are thrilled to open a second location in Orlando,” Harvey said. “Central Florida has long been one of the most popular travel destinations in the world, and The Florida Mall draws millions of visitors both from around the United States and internationally. We are pleased to be a part of The Florida Mall’s recent expansion and to be able to present our store to the mall’s guests from around the world.”

This is Ron Jon Surf Shop’s second Orlando store with the other located at Artegon Marketplace Orlando.

My name is Mark and I’m a mall-aholic. As a native Orlandoan, I’ve been visiting them since I can remember. I’ve also worked in a couple and consider myself a self-appointed expert. There’s been a lot of change when it comes metro Orlando’s mall landscape, and I’ve taken it upon myself to chronicle it. Each mall has a story to tell, and having graduated from the University of Central Florida and double majored in journalism and radio/television, I feel I’m best equipped to make those stories come alive here at Orlando Mall Guide. So whether you’re a local or a tourist needing a shopping break from the attractions, I’m your hookup.
