Chesterfield sofa. It's an ongoing favorite in fashionable bars and boutique hotels and no wonder. With their clean lines and comfort button‐backed chesterfield sofas are truly timeless and look as good in a modern warehouse apartment as in a grand country abode. The classic version comes in tan leather but for a sumptuous update I love the raspberry‐pink and pewter‐colored velvet numbers here.

This navy and pink room belongs to the youngest daughter – who was 3 at the time. Keim wanted to design a space that would reflect the girl's sweet and energetic personality and fit the style of the rest of the home. Keim and the girl's mother both fell in love with the wallpaper which dictated the rest of the room's style and color palette. The client trusted Keim so she was given a lot of room to experiment. While she played around with color and pattern she carefully choose the furniture so that it would last each girl into her teens and beyond. "I would use those pieces!" she says. The family's 10‐year‐old daughter loves turquoise so Keim chose a complementary shade of peachy‐orange to help it stand out. "As with most jobs I take their favorite color and make it the accent color " says Keim. "It usually pops more that way." A custom headboard grass cloth wall covering patterned pillows and classic lamps add visual texture and depth to the vibrant space. The tree bookcase was especially exciting for the daughter and she also loves the special pencil set on her desk. The vintage chair was reupholstered in scraps from Keim's showroom for an eclectic one‐of‐a‐kind piece. The girls share a large study a playroom and closets outside of the bedrooms so Keim didn't have to integrate a lot of storage or play space into these rooms.

Consider a designer pack‐and‐go dining table. Plywood is lightweight and durable and a plywood table can be flat‐packed and assembled as needed at home. Your dining table then can be packed up and moved as necessary. Plus it works well in a home with modern Nordic or contemporary Asian style.

Go for an elegant look. "The inspiration for this bathroom was elegant glamour" says Jamie Herzlinger of Jamie Herzlinger Design. "The easiest way to get elegance into your bathroom is by using a frameless shower because it keeps the look clean and sleek". Embrace minimalism. "We were looking to have the colors of the limestone tile bounce light around the room and to use few if any noticeable details in keeping with our firm's philosophy of embracing minimalism" says David Webber of Webber + Studio Architects. Infuse a sense of calm. "I was inspired by the tranquil river and landscape surrounding this home to create a peaceful sanctuary that brought the outdoors in" says Justine Sterling of Justine Sterling Design. "The frameless shower design was key in creating transparency openness and a sense of calm". Invite nature to be your guest. "This master bath is in a summer home on a lake and the back of the house faces the woods" says Nora Schneider of Nora Schneider Interior Design. "The shower faces an entire wall of windows overlooking the woods and I wanted to invite nature in as an evergreen guest".

Create a feature wall. Embrace the dark side with a single feature wall. The black wall in this room helps to put the bed and lights at center stage while the remaining white walls and crisp white bedding keep the look airy.

The deep blue walls are upholstered in a Romo fabric complete with soft batting behind it. The upholstery nails were put in by hand and match the nails on the chairs and bench. Their satin nickel finish picks up on the other finishes in the kitchen.
